SIGNIFICANT ENERGY RELATED DEVELOPMENTS
The following is a minimal compilation of recent energy information and advancements which demonstrate the necessity and marketability of our services. Our intention is to integrate solar & wind energy power as a supplement and/or alternate to the production of electric power derived from fossil fuels.
- The alternative energy field is one of the fastest growing areas of business worldwide. According to a study produced for the Department of Energy, the demand for energy is increasing domestically and internationally on an annual basis and is expected to more than double by the year 2020. While the strongest winds are located along ridge tops in mountainous areas, the Great Plains from Texas to North Dakota contain the preponderance of the nation's wind power potential. South and West Texas are several of SID's many targeted domestic project locations.
- Twelve states in the midsection of the country contribute over 90% of the wind electric potential in the contiguous United States and have the potential to produce several times their own electrical consumption, which puts them in a position to export electric power or use it for other applications. SID plans to continue to utilize this opportunity by creating, engineering, developing and managing other projects in this geographical area.
- In 2008, crude oil prices surged through the $140 per barrel barrier, reaching the highest price per barrel in U.S. history. The demand is soaring for the services of visionaries to research and provide alternative ways of generating power.
- In December, 2007, President Bush signed into law the Energy Bill. In his State of the Union speech in January, 2008 he stated: "To build a future of energy security, we must trust in the creative genius of American researchers and entrepreneurs and empower them to pioneer a new generation of clean energy technology. Our security, our prosperity, and our environment all require reducing our dependence on oil."
- In recent years, privatization of public suppliers and complete or partial deregulation in the sector has led to a separation of energy related economic activities and to the identification of energy services as distinct from energy goods.
- The Alternative energy investment sector is anticipated by investment analysts to continue to outperform the market for the next 10-20 years.
GLOBAL WARMING
Last year, the New York Times reported that it is more than 90 percent likely that global warming in the past half century has been caused by the release of carbon dioxide and other heat-trapping greenhouse gasses. In the United States, the problem with our reliance on oil to fuel our cars and other needs, and the concequences of polluting the air with the residue, has stimulated serious discussions and actions to solve these problems.
Due to the dramatic effect that carbon emissions and greenhouse gasses have had on our planet, the House Legislation passed a bill approving $14 billion in tax breaks for domestic oil producers, money which would then go for the development of alternative energy systems. Unfortunatly, most of these oil companies are making very little progress, which gives the responsibility to smaller companies like SID International Inc. to develop clean and renewable power generation systems.
To guarantee a safe clean environment for the future of our planet, development of alternative energy and fuels is key in the reduction of carbon dioxide and greenhouse gas emissions that have and continue to damage our environment.
